The Challenger to World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand, the Norwegian Magnus Carlen, visited India along with his Team
and saw the Match Venue. He confirmed the facilities and declared himself happy with the preparation. After Carlsen FIDE Vice President Israel Gelfer and Mrs Aruna Anand also visited the venue and both confirmed their acceptance of the Match Venue.

GM Magnus Carlsen got a tumultuous Reception at the MOP Vaishnav college for Women where some 2200 girls welcomed him. Carlsen played Simuls against 20 young chess players and where he lost 4 games and drew six while winning only 10. After the Simuls Carlsen spoke to Press about his forthcoming match against the World Champion Viswanathan Anand.
